River Biodiversity Extended
Program Information
Get ready to get wet while exploring more of the Hillsborough River! Students will participate in an expanded hands-on biodiversity survey, catching and observing the abundance of invertebrates and vertebrates that live in different parts of the river corridor. Students will investigate the river’s physical health by conducting a stream flow velocity test and calculating the total discharge. As well as learn how water travels between the springs and the aquifer, gaining a deeper understanding of Florida’s unique freshwater systems.
** Students and chaperones should come in clothing and closed toed shoes that can get wet. **
NO CROCS OR FLIP FLOPS!!!!
Reservation Information
Your reservation at Crystal Springs includes the choice of two - 1.5 hr. programs and a half-hour lunch.
Please plan to be at Crystal Springs Preserve for 3.5 - 4.0 hours depending on your bus schedule.
Programs start at 9:30 am with a planned departure between 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm.
We can accommodate 90 students (3 groups) per day.
A minimum of two adult chaperones per group is required to book.
